ABOUT DIANA WREN
I studied Fine Art at Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury where I specialised in sculpture in various media - stone, bronze, wood, glass and clay. I also studied painting and printmaking which I use in my ceramic scupltures and in my quirky domestic ware. When I moved to Portsmouth I studied for the City and Guilds Certificate in Ceramics, which enabled me to set up my own small studio in Southsea.
I now work mostly in clay. I am a member of the Southern Ceramics Group and gain inspiration and confidence from working with other potters, developing glazes and exploring new techniques, particularly in raku firing. Most of my work is hand built and I like to experiment with my own glazes for interesting finishes. I also enjoy the excitement and unpredictability of raku firing.
I exhibit regularly with the Southern Ceramic Group and Crafts in the Tower. If you are interested in purchasing any of my work, contact me for a price list of work available.
Here are some pictures of me raku firing.
